Spoolie Swap

Sandy from "521 Lake Street" hosted an Easter Swap.
Thank you, Sandy, for hosting!
The challenge was to create an original "Spoolie" for our partner.

This was my first attempt at needle felting.
Thank heaven for YouTube tutorials.
I made this for my swap partner,
Joyce of "Scrap For Joy" blog.
Do you remember seeing this?
"Little Chicklette"
Almost finished.
"Little Chicklette"
Sittin Pretty atop her wooden "Spoolie"!
Easter "Spoolie" Variation
Egg Cup Pincushion
Work In Progress
I made the cutest little Polka Dot Easter Eggs...
You may ask..."Where are they?"
My kitty, Schlomo, ate them!
Another "Little Chicklette Spoolie" for my sweet friend, Jann,
of "Have A Daily Cup Of Mrs Olson" blog.
Not quite finished...
Just a few more touches.

"Little Chicklette"
She needed a little Bling!

Blessings to each one of you on this glorious weekend!
Carolynn  xoxo

Oh my sweet friend, I can't stop looking at my spoolie. It just makes me smile all over. I have wanted to learn how to felt for a long time. They were teaching it at a quilt shop about a year ago but I had something that day. I wondered if I could learn on line. I will check it out. I am sure that Joy was filled with Joy over her sweet gift as was I! Your work is so fabulous! I love the party hat and the bling! Your egg pin cushion with the bunny is so cute too. I still can't beleive that darn cat! lol! So glad that you will be sharing this with SYC
Thanks again my friend!

Hi Carolynn!
Your spoolies are so darling! I've been wanting to learn how to needle felt - you've got me all inspired.
Oh my goodness, your little dickens Schlomo must have been wanting a visit from the Easter Bunny too! ;)

Happy Easter to you and your family!

Sweetness!! So many signed up for 521 swap! That is a lot of brave crafters. I have never felted or spoolied! lol. I luv seeing my bunny banner on our mantel! It is perfect! xox!

HollyC said...

I just love these spoolies! You did an amazing job with the needle felting. How many times did you stab yourself? Lol-I tend to do that too often when I am needle felting. So glad that you tried it. And that sneaky kitty! My kitty just chewed the whiskers off of my bunny shaker. For some reason he likes the fiber optic stuff and artificial Christmas needles. I have to really watch him. Thankfully he didn't swallow them, he left the 4 broken whiskers on my table :( but I love him anyway. Happy Easter, Holly

So many darling decorations. I wanted to tell you: "ask all your friends who go antiquing to help you look for a lid" as some malls have at least 1 person who sells oddball ones. Measure the inside opening side to side and remember the inside of the lid drops inside that.

Sandi@ Rose Chintz Cottage said...

Your wee spools are too cute, Carolynn! Did your kitty truly eat your eggs? That is too funny! Thanks for sharing, my friend, and have a lovely Easter.

Elena said...

Carolynn, your felting creations are so adorable! My sister pins a lot of felted animals on pinterest and I am always so fasicnated by them. That is such a cute idea to put them on a spool of thread. Maybe when Mary gets a little older we can try making them :) Thank you for your Easter greetings and I wish the same for you!

Hi Carolynn~
I must be losing my tiny mind. I know I sent you an email when I opened all of my wonderful treasures but I thought I also left a comment here...Yikes! My spoolie was on display in the dining room along with my felted eggs...even my grandsons were fascinated with everything. (Although it was a "touch with your eyes, not with your hands" agreement)
I hope you had a wonderful Easter and some rest, too. It was fun to have a 2 year old and 5 year old, but I always forget how much energy it takes to try to keep up.
I' so happy that we met through this swap and as soon as my PC is functioning again, I will post the pictures of the lovely gifts you sent.

Your kitty ate the eggs?!? Oh no!!! ;)

Hope you had a beautiful Easter, my friend.
