Springtime

Pink, lilac,  sky blue, sunny yellow & minty green...
        Yes....Spring is almost here!
Eggs are everyday reminders of new life.
Little Baby Chicks
Even our gardens are showing new signs of life..
Sunny yellow daffodils
Purple Crocus
Golden Forsythia
The sweet little girl is my husband's Mother, Anne. The photo was taken in the 1930s.
She is such a loving and wonderful Mother-in-love.
My bedroom is a peaceful respite decorated in powder blue, soft pink and buttery yellow.

I love sewing.
One of my favorite things to make are Heirloom baby garments.
I, especially, love Christening Gowns.
Soft white batiste, dainty pin tucks and embroidery.
What treasured keepsakes they make.

"Desert Rose" from my sweet Gramma.
I have many fond memories of family gathered around Gramma and Grampa's table on Easter Sunday.
She always served us on her beautiful Franciscan Ware.

A pretty little Rose teacup and saucer from my Mother.

Vintage touches...
Lace that my Gramma crocheted
Vintage plates from my thrifting adventures.
This pretty little cream and sugar are thrifted.
I love the feminine touch they give my cottage shelf.
A tiny little tea cup
Yes...Another thrifted treasure!

And now for a
SNEAK PEEK!
I've been having fun working on something special
for the Easter Swap.
Can you guess what I'm making?

"Ask, and it shall be given you;
Seek, and ye shall find;
Knock, and it shall be opened unto you."
Matthew 7:7

Blessings,

Wowee this is quite the post! I love all your sweet little cottage touches. Thank you so much for always stopping by with such kind words. I'm so glad you appreciate and can use my graphics. As far as the felting question.....I think you might be making Easter eggs, or pink bunnies, or maybe those are just the bunny tails???? I used to do felting about 15 years ago, but I stopped when I kept punching my fingers more than the wool. Have a lovely week.

Hugs,
Meri

I love all your pretties! The dessert rose tea pot is so pretty. I have an ivy pattern platter by them that was my moms and I just love it. Seeing the crochet lace that your grandma made reminds that I need to go through my diolies and find a beautiful handcrocheted table rummer that was my aunts. I just love dishes and handcrafted things from the past. They are all so beautifully done with so much love and care. Have a beautiful day!

Wonderful treasures!! My mom inherited a set of desert rose. Yes, I saw your beautiful blueware. Still deciding what box to pack. I can imagine how Oregon is today! Hope as pretty as texas!

Hmmm, I didn't read the other comments, but it looks like needle felting??? Eggs??? Something cute I know!! And I'm so excited to have you visit and share such pretty lovelies with us this week!
My Grossmutter had that same compote jar (the one with the pearls dripping out of it), when I was a child. She had two of them in her hallway as soon as you walked in her front door. I had to dust them. When she retired to a retirement home, my sister and I each got to choose one. I actually chose the red one, because red was my fave color as a child, but as soon as I saw yours, I remembered it!
Have a lovely week!
Blessings,
Doni

Carolynn, This is such a sweet post. It's such a loving tribute that you have used your husband's mother in your header. I am so excited to see your Desert Rose teapot. I gave my newlywed daughter my complete set. She uses them as her everyday dishes, and she says it reminds her of her loving childhood. I love these tender connections from one generation to the next.
