Blueware

It's Summertime at Chenille Cottage!

Make yourself at home....I hope you'll stay for a while.
My sister, Patti, made this lovely red, white and blue quilt for my birthday.
I just love it!

A Cuppa Spiced Tea...
One for You
And, One for Me!
Be a Lamb...and Stay For a While!
My Blue and Yellow Canisters were given to me as a gift in 1970.
I have always loved blueware of any kind.
"Summertime"
Red, White and Blue
Stars and Stripes
Bouquets of Daisies
Mouthwatering Watermelon
Beachcombing
Picnics
Fun!

My sweet husband brought this Gzhel Sugar Bowl back from a trip he took to Russia. He has a tradition of bringing something blue home to me when he travels overseas. I love this darling sugar bowl with it's lovely shape and rich blue hues.
The sweet little Dutch Girl was passed on to me by my Mother. It was given to her in the 1920s when she was a little girl. I have fond memories from my childhood of admiring it, but, never touching. It is a precious keepsake!
Milkglass from my friend & distant cousin, Laura
I love Chickens...
Any way, shape or form!
"This Little Piggy went to Market..."
I have had these little salt and pepper shakers for over 30 years.
Aren't they cute?!!

"Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt,
so that you will know how you should respond to each person."
  Colossians 4:6  NASB

Sometimes I fall so short of this challenging passage of scripture!

"Blue sounds like the mighty Pacific.
Blue smells like a blueberry on a bush.
Blue tastes like a blueberry on my tongue.
Blue feels like a turquoise puffer fish in the ocean.
Blue looks like a shimmering sea.
Blue feels like a shard of beach glass.
Blue sounds like a whale singing."
J. Bowers

Sweet cream comes from Contented Cows!
My kitchen isn't complete without a few happy bovines!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit, my dear friends!
I hope you'll come back again, soon!

Blessings and Friendship,
Carolynn  xoxo

and easy to speak,
but their echoes

That sugar bowl is gorgeous. All your blues are beautiful. Can you believe such fragile pieces make it through all the years. Thank goodness. Enjoy your wonderful summer days. We are hoping for the heat to break soon. Even 95'F would bee cooler at this point. Smiles...Renee

Oh your kitchen is just darling. I love all the blue and white but the way it pops against that red buffet. Just too cute. Oh how I would love a cup of coffee at that table to look in person at all your pretty things. You really have a great sense of style.

Hi Carolynn!
You are a very big sweetie pie! I'd give you a hug if I could. Today has been a really yucky day and your comment on my blog was the sweetest and dearest thing and helped turn the gray skies to blue. :)
I would adore your bunny pattern so much but since I am the queen of big ideas AND the queen of procrastination, I think it has a better home with you. I don't want to accept such a darling and precious gift from you and have it sit there and not be used - heaven knows, that's what I'm all about these days. ARGH!
Thank you thank you thank you a bazillion times over for your kindness and thinking of me. You are a dear soul and I so appreciate it. (I was wondering if you'd like me to not post your comment since it contains your email address?)
Oh my gosh, I adore all of your blue and white things. What a wonderful hubby you have to always bring you a special gift back from his travels and how exciting to have something from Russia.
Blue and white china is a favorite of mine ... I used to be besotted with the Royal Copenhagen Blue Lace pattern, I so wanted it. What is your darling soup tureen, it looks so cute and I'm unfamiliar with it?
I'm guessing the rest of your house is quite magical too! :)
Thank you again so much for your kindness, may it be returned to you a hundred fold!
Sally

Oh, I love all of your beautiful treasures. It's so nice to collect things over the years so that each one holds special memories. I went to the thrift store and found a beautiful bowl with blue sail boats on the sides. I may want to use your poem to do a 'blue' post soon! Sweet hugs!

Hi Carolyn, I would love to come and enjoy a cup of tea with you and look at all your gorgeous blue and white dishes in the red cabinet! What a perfect way to showcase them! You have so many lovely pieces. I love the little cow pitchers

What lovely things you have shown us here. I'm an auctioneers daughter and I have seen one or two of your treasures come across the auction block in my time. But, those that collect these items seem to keep them and pass them on. Don't get many chances to purchase these remarkable items that way.

LOVE that quilt and all those pretty dishes! Lucky you!

Concerning our words: I have found that seasoned speech comes from the inner presence of the salt Himself! As I yeild to him and let Him fill me, He overflows into every area of life! ♥

Your sister made you that quilt? It is so nice. I am so happy to see red, whites, and blues this summer. Your chubby little lamb just seems to invite you into this room. All your blue has wonderful stories and memories. I especially love the little Dutch girl. Look at those elbows!!! Colossians 4:6 Is one of my favorite scriptures. Is that a salt dip without a lid? For pinching salt?
Blessings,
Susie
